Rajasthan Adim Jati
Sevak Sangh is a state level voluntary
organization affiliated to Bhartiya Adim Jati
Sevak Sangh, Delhi and Khadi and Village
Industries Commission (KVIC), Mumbai. With the
inspiration of Late Thakkar Bapa and the founder
of this institution Late Sh. Manik Lal Verma, Sh.
Bhogi Lal Pandya and Sh. Gouri Shankar Uphadaya
the organization is working for the social
awakening and overall development of the tribal
area in the state of Rajasthan.

With its focus to work for the welfare of the
weaker sections mainly Schedule Tribes,
Scheduled Castes, Denotified Tribes and Nomadic
Tribes of Rajasthan, the organization was formed
as ‘Rajasthan Adim Jati Sevak Sangh’ on November
14th, 1957 and registered under the Societies
Registration Act of 1860 on 4th February 1959
with its head quarters at Jaipur. Shri Manikya
Lal Verma, who was the founder President and
Shri. Banwari Lal Gaur has been the founder
secretary of the organization have worked hard
selflessly in making the organization an unique
one at state level for the tribal welfare.
Historical Context:
13.5% of Rajasthan’s population is tribal
population. The state of Rajasthan is 3,42,214
sq. km. in area and 10.78% of this area,
constitutes the forest cover.
Historically speaking, the tribals were
originally the inhabitants of the Aravali and
the Vindhyachal ranges of Rajasthan. But now,
the tribal areas can be found in the areas of
Udaipur, Banswada, Dungarpur and Kota.
Before independence, Gandhi ji, along with many
spirited workers, started social awakening
movement all over India. With the inspiration of
Gandhi ji, Lt. Thakkur Bapa devoted his whole
life in the social upliftment services for the
weaker sections, all over the country. His
integrated efforts and their achievements may be
seen in Gujarat and Rajasthan, where, Bapa’a
associates Sh. Manikyalaji Verma and Sh. Bhogi
Lal Pandya continued the upliftment services.
